The protection level of high-power LED floodlights is generally above IP65, with waterproof functions such as splash water and surrounding rain. The main waterproofing method for LED floodlights is the front cover of the lamp and the lamp bead surface. We use professional lenses + waterproofing. Many of our outdoor floodlights wall lights inground lights wall washer lights need to meet the protection level IP in the design requirements. As long as it is an outdoor LED floodlight, we must reach IP65 protection level and the led underwater light, it should be up to IP68 waterproof class certificate. So what kind of effect can this protection level IP65 or IP68 achieve? What do the IP65 IP68 numbers mean?
The first "x" marks the number definition:
0 No protection: No special protection for outside people or things.
1 To prevent the invasion of solid objects greater than 50mm: to prevent the human body (such as the palm) from accidentally touching the parts inside the lamp. Prevent the intrusion of foreign objects of larger size (diameter greater than 50mm).
2 To prevent the invasion of solid objects greater than 12mm: to prevent human fingers from contacting the parts inside the lamp to prevent the invasion of foreign objects of medium size (diameter of 12mm).
3 To prevent the invasion of solid objects greater than 2.5mm: to prevent the diameter or thickness of more than 2.5mm tools, wires or similar details of small foreign objects to invade and contact the internal parts of the lamp.
4 To prevent the invasion of solid objects greater than 1.0mm: to prevent the diameter or thickness of more than 1.0mm tools, wires or similar details of small foreign objects to invade and contact the internal parts of the lamp.
5 Dust: completely prevent foreign object intrusion, although it can not completely prevent dust from entering, but the amount of dust intrusion will not affect the normal work of the lamp.
6 Dust: completely prevent foreign objects from invading, and can completely prevent dust from entering.

1 Prevent water intrusion: vertical drops of water (such as condensed water) will not cause harmful effects on the lamp.
2 Tilt 15 degrees can still prevent water intrusion: when the lamp from the vertical tilt to 15 degrees, the water will not cause harmful effects on the lamp
3 Prevent water intrusion by spraying: prevent rain, or prevent water sprayed in the direction of vertical Angle less than 60 degrees from entering the lamp and causing damage.
4 Prevent splashing water intrusion: Prevent splashing water in all directions from entering the lamp and causing damage.
5 Prevent the injection of water intrusion: prevent the water from all directions from the nozzle into the lamp to cause damage.
6 to prevent the invasion of large waves: the lamps installed on the deck to prevent damage caused by the invasion of large waves.
7 Prevent the intrusion of water when submerged: the lamp is immersed in water for a certain time or the water pressure is below a certain standard to ensure that it is not damaged due to water.
8 Prevent the intrusion of water when sinking: the lamp is sunk indefinitely under the specified water pressure, which can ensure that it is not damaged due to water.
LED floodlights, LED street lights used in outdoor lighting, the protection level is usually not less than IP65 (that is, LED floodlights need to completely prevent foreign objects from invading, and can completely prevent dust from entering; Prevent jet water intrusion: Prevent water from all directions from the nozzle into the lamp and cause damage.)
Specifically, the IP protection level is composed of two digits, that is, IPxx, the first x indicates the level of the luminaire from dust and preventing foreign object intrusion, the second x indicates the degree of tightness of the luminaire against moisture and waterproof intrusion, the larger the number, the higher the protection level.
High IP ratings are appropriate for:
- Unsealed outdoor locations

- High splash areas
- High contact areas (people touching them)
